ORLANDO, Fla. - After having a match with Ohio Wesleyan postponed due to rain on Monday, the University of Scranton women's tennis team returned to action on Tuesday morning, taking on William Smith.
In the match, William Smith was victorious, 8-1. With the defeat, Scranton dropped to 2-4 overall on the year.
In the defeat, Scranton was able to capture one singles match on the day, as freshman Nastashia DeNunzio (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) gutted out a tough three-set victory at number two singles (6-3, 0-6, 14-12).
William Smith was able to take the other five singles matches contested on the day, as well as the three doubles matches contested to post the 8-1 win.
The University of Scranton women's tennis team will conclude play in Orlando on Thursday, taking on St. Norbert at 8 a.m.
