The University of Scranton women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches en route to a rain-shortened 5-3 win over East Stroudsburg on Saturday at Royal Courts.
The victory improves the Royals to 3-0 on the season as the team remains unbeaten in doubles play, having swept doubles in all three matches.
On Saturday, Scranton took control thanks to an 8-2 win at no. 1 doubles from senior Julia Frattaroli (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and sophomore Emily Kelly (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson). The no. 2 doubles team of junior Emilia Jakubek (Honesdale, Pa./Scranton Prep) and freshman Tatiana Klacko (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) earned an 8-3 win, as did the no. 3 pairing of freshman Kristen Denniston (Hawley, Pa./Wallenpaupack) and junior Nora Murray (Belle Mead, N.J./Pennington School).
The Royals received singles victories from Jakubek, who was a 6-4, 6-0 winner at no. 2, and Kelly, who won 6-2, 6-2 at no. 3.
The women's tennis team will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 20, when the Royals travel across town to take on Marywood at 4 p.m.
