SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - A pair of University of Scranton women's tennis players opened play at the 2017 ITA Northeast Regionals on Friday, as senior Julia Frattaroli (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and sophomore Nastashia DeNunzio (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) took part in singles and doubles matches.

On the day, DeNunzio dropped a heart-fought three-set decision to Mailani Neal of Rensselaer, 2-6, 6-2, 10-7, while Frattaroli lost in straight sets to Sravya Gudipudi of Rochester, 6-3, 6-2. The tandem also took part in a doubles match on the afternoon at Skidmore, and fell 8-1 to a team from New York University.

Action at the 2017 ITA Northeast Regionals continues tomorrow at Skidmore.
