ANNVILLE, Pa. - The University of Scranton women's tennis team swept both doubles and singles action on the afternoon, as the Royals remained unbeaten on their Fall season with a 9-0 shutout victory at Lebanon Valley on Tuesday afternoon

With the win, Scranton improved to 5-0 on the year, while Lebanon Valley dropped to 0-2 with the defeat.

In the victory, Scranton got the ball rolling in doubles, winning three matches.

First at number one, senior Julia Frattaroli (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and sophomore Nastashia DeNunzio (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) coasted to an 8-1 victory, which was the same score junior Emilia Jakubek (Honesdale, Pa./Scranton Prep) and sophomore Emily Kelly (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) won by in the number two spot on the lineup.

In number three doubles, the tandem of senior Katherine Loughlin (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) and freshman Tatiana Klacko (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) posted an 8-5 victory, as Scranton entered singles with a 3-0 lead.

The victories kept coming for Scranton in singles action, as the Royals captured all six singles contests that we held.

Four Royals became two-time winners for the day in singles: Frattaroli at number one (6-0, 6-0), DeNunzio at number two (6-3, 6-0), Jakubek at number three (6-1, 6-2) and Kelly at number four (7-5, 6-3).

At number five, junior Elyse Smilnak (Holidaysburg, Pa./Holidaysburg) was a 6-2, 6-4, winner, then at number six, sophomore Sakira Fussner (Kempton, Pa./Kutztown Area) completed the sweep with a 7-5, 6-2 victory.

The University of Scranton women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, as they host Messiah at Royal Courts. Action gets underway at 1 p.m.
