The University of Scranton wrestling team posted a trio of pins while rolling to a 46-6 victory over Keystone College in the Long Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Royals (7-3) dropped the opening bout by pin at 125 pounds, then ran off nine straight victories. Senior Nicholas DePierro (Manalapan, N.J./Freehold) got the rout started with a pin in 6:21 at 133 pounds. He was joined in the pin column by sophomore John Sheedy (Somerset, N.J./Bishop George Ahr), who needed just 1:20 for a pin at 157 pounds, and senior Zachary D'Apolito (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley Senior), who clamped his opponent at 174 pounds in 4:20.

Sophomore Nicholas Ciaccia (Freehold, N.J./Howell) had a 15-3 major decision at 141 pounds. Sophomore T.J. Conlon (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) picked up a 5-0 decision at 149 pounds and freshman William Oxley (Middletown, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) had a 7-0 decision at 285.

Scranton was also aided by forfeit victories at 165, 184 and 197 pounds.

The wrestling team will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 26, when the Royals travel to Allentown, Pa. to take on Muhlenberg at 7 p.m.
