Women's Tennis Falls to Mount Holyoke, 8-1, in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Scranton women's tennis team continued their Spring Break trip this morning in Orlando, and the Royals dropped an 8-1 decision to Mount Holyoke in a match played at the USTA National Campus.

With the defeat, Scranton fell to 4-4 overall for the year.

In the loss, Mount Holyoke captured three doubles matches to go up, 3-0, on Scranton entering singles play. Then, in singles, Mount Holyoke won in five of the six flights contested to take the match.

Scranton's lone win of the morning came in number five singles, as freshman Stephanie Hoffmann (Staten Island, N.Y./Notre Dame Academy) was victorious at number five via a super tiebreak, 6-1, 1-6, 1-0 (10-2).

The University of Scranton women's tennis team will conclude their Spring Break match slate on Thursday, as they Dickinson in Orlando beginning at 6 p.m.
