SCRANTON, Pa. – The No. 2 seed University of Scranton women's lacrosse team (8-1) raced out to a 15-1 halftime lead en route to a 20-7 win over the No. 7 seed Juniata Eagles (0-9) in Landmark Conference Quarterfinal action on Saturday afternoon at Weiss Field in Scranton.

Senior Bridget Lalley (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) and sophomore Erin Wheeler (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic) had a hat trick apiece to lead the way for the Royals, while four other players had multi-goal games.
Juniata scored the first goal of the game before senior Jill Henson (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) quickly tied the game for Scranton as the hosts scored the final 15 goals of the opening stanza to take the 15-1 halftime lead. Lalley scored three straight goals to open up a 6-1 lead at the 14:52 mark. Wheeler tallied her first goal of the day with 10:42 left in the half and scored two more over the next seven plus minutes. Freshman Tara Kotten's (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) goal with 1:47 left in the first half made it a 15-1 game.
The Eagles were unable to get any closer than 12 in the second half and senior Kiera Carmody (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) scored her second goal of the half to close the scoring at 20-7 with 1:39 remaining.
Carmody, fellow senior Raegen Dunn (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township), sophomore Emma Fitzpatrick (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore) and junior Jaclyn McCusker (River Edge, N.J./River Dell) all had two goals apiece for the Royals. Henson added a goal and three assists, while other goal scorers in the win were junior Jennifer Williams (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville), sophomore Maggie Smith (Glen Rock, N.J./Glen Rock), sophomore Caroline Miller (Huntington, N.Y./Elwood-John H. Glenn) and freshman Karina Roettger (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial).
McCusker added five draw controls and a caused turnover in the win, while Miller, Smith and junior Emily Schum (East Hanover, N.J./Morris Catholic) added four draw controls apiece. Schum paced the Royals with two caused turnovers and Lalley and freshman Grace Dabulas (Scotch Plains, N.J./Westfield) had two ground balls each.
Senior Lauren Devlin (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) made one save in 30 minutes of action and sophomore Anna Tamke (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernardsville) registered three saves in the second half.
Grace Gibbs led Juniata with five goals on the afternoon.
