CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's tennis team (5-1, 5-1 Landmark) closed out the regular season in style with a 9-0 sweep of Juniata (1-7, 1-7 Landmark) in Landmark Conference action on Sunday afternoon at Birchwood Tennis Center.
In No. 1 doubles, the duo of senior Marissa Campo (Green Lane, Pa./Christopher Dock)/sophomore Lily Nowak (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area) picked up an 8-1 win, while senior Tatiana Klacko (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) and graduate student Emily Kelly (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) followed suit with an 8-1 win of their own in No. 2 doubles. Senior Kristen Denniston (Hawley, Pa./Wallenpaupack) and junior Claire Loughlin (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) registered an 8-0 win at the No. 3 doubles flight to give the Royals the early lead.
Klacko picked up a thrilling 6-7, 6-2, 10-8 win over Juniata's Emily Dowler in No. 1 singles, while Nowak was a straight set (6-0, 6-2) winner at second singles. Meanwhile, Kelly (6-1, 6-2) and Roberto (6-0, 6-1) both recorded straight set victories in No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
Loughlin picked up a 6-0, 6-1 victory in No. 5 singles and Denniston won by default at the sixth singles flight.
