Women's Tennis Falls at SUNY Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The University of Scranton women's tennis team played the second match of their Fall 2021 schedule on Friday at SUNY Oneonta and the host Red Dragons rolled to a 9-0 win over the Royals.

With the results, Scranton dropped to 1-1 on the year, while Oneonta improved to 3-0 overall with the win.

In the match, Oneonta rolled to a 3-0 start after sweeping doubles, then won all six singles matches contested to earn the 9-0 victory over the Royals. The closest match in singles, however, was at number one, where freshman Mayjah Jean-Pierre (Linden, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's) won her first set (6-1) before falling in three (3-6, 8-10).

The University of Scranton women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 25, when they take part in the King's College Invitational in Wilkes-Barre.
