SCRANTON, PA (December 9, 2022) -- Senior Jeremiah Oakes (Scranton, Pa. / Scranton) posted a first period pin in just 1:16 as The University of Scranton wrestling team dropped a home dual-match to Muhlenberg on Friday evening in the John Long Center.
- Oakes took down Nico Berlingeri of the Mules in the opening period of the 165 bout to secure six points for the Royals.
- Senior Hunter Marhan (Long Branch, N.J. / Long Branch) earned Scranton three points in the heavyweight bout as he battled hard for a 8-5 decision win over Ben Krauss.
- Senior Jose Falcon (Dingmans Ferry, Pa. / Delaware Valley) put up a valiant effort at 197 but was ultimately defeated in a 10-8 decision by Greg Grigorian.
- At 157, junior Daniel Kosinski (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Trinity) gave Riley McHale all he had but fell in an 11-4 decision.
The wrestling team returns to action on January 14 when they head to Ursinus College for the Will Abele Invitational.
