ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Scranton women's tennis team (4-3) notched a pair of victories in singles play, but ultimately fell short in a 7-2 loss to the Dickinson Red Devils (3-0) on Monday during the team's opening match of Spring Break in Orlando.

Dickinson took all three doubles matches including a close 8-7 (8-6) win over the Royals' duo of freshman Mayjah Jean-Pierre (Linden, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's) and senior Claire Loughlin (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) in No. 2 doubles action.

In singles action, junior Lily Nowak (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area) rolled past the Red Devils' Ariana Goitz (6-0, 6-0) in straight sets at No. 2 singles and Loughlin picked up a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Dana Kleinman at the fourth singles flight.

The Royals return to the courts in Orlando tomorrow for a match versus Division II Minnesota-Crookston with first serve slated for 12:30 p.m.
