MADISON, N.J. – The University of Scranton men's tennis team (2-9, 1-1 Landmark) dropped an 8-1 decision to the Drew University Rangers (13-3, 5-0 Landmark) in a Landmark Conference match on Wednesday afternoon at the Drew Tennis Complex in Madison.
In No. 2 doubles play, the Royals' duo of senior Sal Sullivan (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) and junior Steven Prosperino (Brewster, N.Y./North Salem Central) dropped an 8-6 heartbreaker to the Rangers' John Dickey and Jack Polvere.
Senior James Harrington (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) notched a victory via forfeit for the Royals in No. 1 singles play, while freshman Jason Budrys (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) fell in a tough 4-6, 6-7 (4-7) setback to Santo Carroccia at No. 3 singles.
Scranton will return to the courts on Saturday, April 23 with a key home match versus Catholic. First serve at Royal Courts is slated for 1 p.m.
