SCRANTON, PA (April 14, 2022) -- The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team earned its third conference win of the season on Thursday afternoon as the Royals dominated Goucher College and earned an 18-3 victory at Weiss Field. 

The Royals (8-5) unleashed in the first period of play, scoring ten consecutive goals. Freshmen Grace Lane (Long Beach, N.Y. / Sacred Heart Academy) and Molly McCarren (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern) each scored a pair of goal in the first quarter to lead Scranton while six other Royals scored a goal in the period. 

Scranton kept things rolling in the second, adding four more goals to its tally to take a 14-0 lead into halftime. Lane scored her third of the game in the third period to secure a hat trick for the Royals.

Scranton continued to control the game in the second half as they tacked on four more goals and earned an 18-3 win over the Gophers. 

Three freshmen scored first career goals in the game for the Royals as Shannon DiDominica (Oceanside, N.Y. / Oceanside), Catherine McGlynn (Medford, N.J. / Shawnee), and Lauren Corrado (Oreland, Pa. / Springfield Twp.) all found the back of the net. 

Junior goalkeeper Anna Tamke (Bernardsville, N.J. / Bernards) played the final 38 minutes in goal for Scranton and recorded three saves. 

The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team will return to Landmark Conference action when they host Drew University on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM on Weiss Field.
