SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's tennis team (3-10, 2-2 Landmark) dropped an 8-1 decision to the Goucher College Gophers (9-7, 5-1 Landmark) in Landmark Conference action on Sunday afternoon at the Royal Courts in Scranton.
Goucher took all three doubles points to open up an early 3-0 lead in the match and won five of the six singles matches.
Senior James Harrington (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) was a straight set winner for the Royals in No. 1 singles action with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over the Gophers' Brian Kane. With the win, Harrington improves to an impressive 11-2 on the year.
The Royals are back in action on Thursday afternoon at Susquehanna for an important Landmark Conference match with playoff implications. First serve is slated for 4 p.m.
