Box Score

SCRANTON, PA (April 30, 2022) -- The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team earned its seventh straight win on Saturday afternoon as the Royals topped Juniata 13-10 on senior day at Weiss Field.

The Royals (12-5) took an early 1-0 lead in to opening minute of action as senior Halle Conklin (Point Lookout, N.Y. / Kellenberg Memorial) scored on a free-position attempt. Just minutes later sophomore Devyn Tanajewski (Ringwood, N.J. / Lakeland Regional) scored off an assist from fellow sophomore Kayleigh Stalter (Lynbrook, N.Y. / Lynbrook) to make it 2-0. Following a goal from the Eagles, Scranton scored two more as the dynamic freshman duo of Grace Lane (Long Beach, N.Y. / Sacred Heart Academy) and Allie Halfpenny (Mount Laurel, N.J. / Lenape) each found the back of the net and the Royals took a 4-2 lead into the start of the second quarter.

The Royals took off in the second period, outscoring Juniata 7-2 to take an 11-4 lead into halftime. Conklin and Stalter each scored three goals a piece in the second period while Lane added another goal to the tally for Scranton.

Lane kept things rolling in the start of the third period for Scranton as she scored her third goal of the game. Freshman Molly McCarren (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern) found the back of the net in the middle stages of the third to give the Royals a 13-4 lead with 5:39 remaining in the period. The Eagles then made a late second half push, scoring six unanswered goals, but it was too late as the Royals held on the win 13-10 and secure the second seed in the Landmark playoffs.

Conklin led Scranton on her senior day with four goals while Stalter and Lane each added hat tricks. Sophomore Grace Dabulas (Scotch Plains, N.J. / Westfield) was stellar on the defensive end as she recorded four ground balls and four caused turnover.

The Royals will get set to host Moravian at 5:00 PM on Wednesday in the opening round of the Landmark Confernce playoffs.
