ANNVILLE, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's tennis team (1-2) dropped a 7-2 decision to the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen (1-0) in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon at Shankroff Tennis Center in Annville.
The Royals trailed 2-1 after doubles despite an 8-6 victory from the senior duo of James Harrington (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) and Patrick O'Mara (Pleasantville, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) at the first flight.
In No. 1 singles play, Harrington dropped a three-set heartbreaker (5-7, 6-3, 2-10) to LVC's Justin Scheutz. Elsewhere for Scranton, junior Jason Budrys (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) was a 7-5, 7-5 winner against Brady McLucas.
The Royals return home to host Grove City on Saturday afternoon at the Royal Courts with first serve slated for 1 p.m.
