WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Junior Daniella Wisniewski (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) captured titles at both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles flight to lead the efforts for The University of Scranton women's tennis team on Sunday at the King's Fall Invitational in Wilkes-Barre.
Wisniewski notched a 6-0, 6-1 victory over FDU-Florham's Rachel Kappelmier and then captured the first singles title with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Kings' Ashley Kenia. In No. 3 singles action, sophomore Olivia Sirico (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win against the Devils' Ashley Gaetani and a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Kings' Carlee Dellose.
At the fifth singles flight, senior Maddy Abood (Plainfield, N.J./Union Catholic) and junior Taralyn Reilly (Archbald, Pa./Valley View) both registered singles victories for Scranton.
Reilly and Wisniewski teamed up in No. 1 doubles action for wins of 8-4 and 8-2 to capture the title, while freshman Kyleigh McNulty (Bay Shore, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and junior Brigid O'Mara (Pleasantville, N.Y./Kennedy Catholic Prep) defeated Kings' Dellose and Jackie Costello in a thrilling 8-7 victory at the second doubles flight.
The Royals will host Kutztown in a dual match to close out the fall season on Wednesday afternoon at the Royal Courts with first serve slated for 4 p.m.
