Healy Nabs Second Straight Offensive Player of the Year Award to Lead Women's Soccer All-Landmark Selections

Senior midfielder Niamh Healy (Orangeburg, N.Y./Tappan Zee) of The University of Scranton women's soccer team earned Offensive Player of the Year honors for a second straight year and head coach Colleen Pivirotto notched her third consecutive Coach of the Year award to lead the All-Conference selections as released by the Landmark office on Wednesday afternoon.

This marks the third straight year that a Scranton player has won Offensive Player of the Year as Healy did so last year and Grace Elliott was the recipient in 2021.

Pivirotto along with assistant coaches Blake Mullen and Alexis Long were named Coaching Staff of the Year after having led the Royals to 13 victories, the No. 1 seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament and a fourth straight conference championship.

This is the seventh Coaching Staff of the Year award for Pivirotto.

Joining Healy as a First Team honoree were sophomore defender Liv Enderle (Sparta, N.J./Sparta), senior midfielder Mary Haggerty (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) and junior goalie Nicole Olson (Stoughton, Mass./Ursuline Academy), while junior forward Emily Bannon (Middletown, N.Y./Minisink Valley), senior forward Claire Mulholland (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) and senior defender Kaylee Murphy (Lafayette Hill, Pa./William Penn Charter) were all selected to the Second Team.

It is the third career All-Conference selection for Healy, the second for Bannon, Haggerty and Olson and the first for Enderle, Mulholland and Murphy.

Healy leads the Landmark Conference in goals (19), points (40) and game-winning goals (seven) and her 19 goals are the most by a Scranton player since 2003. The Orangeburg, N.Y., native has tallied four multi-goal games on the year and earned Landmark Tournament MVP honors after scoring two goals apiece in playoff victories over Catholic and Drew.

Her 19 goals rank as the ninth-most in a single season in program history.

A defender for the Royals, Enderle has started all 19 games and has anchored a unit that has conceded just 16 goals and leads the conference in goals against average at 0.84. Scranton has nine shutouts on the season and has allowed just one goal in their last four games.

Haggerty is tied for the team and conference lead with nine assists and has also added four goals for 17 points on the year. Two of her four goals have been game-winners in victories over Goucher (Oct. 7) and Susquehanna (Oct. 21) and the Garden City, N.Y., native has tallied at least one point in six of her last eight games.

In goal, Olson ranks second in the Landmark in goals against average (0.80), save percentage (.803) and shutouts (eight). The junior captain made a career-high 10 saves on Sept. 3 at Johns Hopkins and has recorded five or more saves on four different occasions.

Bannon shares the conference lead with Haggerty in assists with nine and has also scored four goals of her own including one in Saturday's 3-0 Landmark Championship game victory over Catholic. Earlier this season, she matched a single-game program record with three assists in a 4-1 win at Marywood and tallied a point in five straight games from Sept. 27 to Oct 10.

Bannon and Haggerty's nine assists are also the most by a Scranton player since 2017 and tied for the 11th-best single season total in program history.

For Mulholland, the senior captain has played in 18 games (10 starts) and has recorded nine points on two goals and five assists. Her five assists are tied for sixth in the conference and she scored goals in consecutive victories over Goucher (Oct. 7) and Wilkes (Oct. 10).

Murphy has started all 19 games on the Royals' backline and has helped the team post nine shutouts including six against Landmark foes. The Lafayette Hill, Pa., native tallied an assist on Healy's game-tying goal at Stevens on Sept. 17.

The Royals are set to clash with McDaniel in NCAA Tournament First Round action on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in Newport News, Va.
