WILLIAMSPORT, PA (February 17, 2023) -- The University of Scranton wrestling team picked up a 27-21 dual match win at Penn College on friday evening with pins from seniors Will Laughlin (Lansdale, Pa. / North Penn) and Ryan Bihasa Lenahan (Floral Park, N.Y. / Chaminade), along with junior Daniel Kosinski (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Trinity).
With the win the Royals move to 7-10 in dual matches on the season.
Scranton 27, Penn College 21
- After a loss at 125, freshman Shkeb Nadir (Scranton, Pa. / Scranton) got Scranton on the board with a 14-9 decision win over Charles Trimber at 133.
- Senior Brandon Judge (Eynon, Pa. / Valley View) followed up with another win for the Royals as he edged out Patrick Snoke in an 11-10 decision at 141.
- At 157, Kosinski pinned Cullen van Rooyen of Penn in 3:41 to give Scranton a 12-9 lead over the Wildcats.
- Laughlin came up big for Scranton at 174 with a first period pin in just 36 seconds to put the Royals up 18-15.
- Bihasa Lenahan then found Scrantons' third fall of the night at 197 as he took down Gabriel Kennedy-Citeroni in 2:24.
- Senior Jose Falcon (Dingmans Ferry, Pa. / Delaware Valley) capped off the night with a 6-5 decision win in the heavyweight bout as the Royals secured a 27-21 victory.
The wrestling team will return to action next weekend for the NCAA Mideast Regionals at Ithaca on Friday and Saturday.
