SCRANTON, PA (February 25, 2023) -- Sophomore Grace Lane (Long Beach, N.Y. / Sacred Heart Academy) and junior Devyn Tanajewski (Ringwood, N.J. / Lakeland Regional) each posted hattricks as The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team earned a convincing 14-2 victory over Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon at Weiss Field. 

With the win Scranton improves to 1-1 on the season.

After LVC scored the games' opening goal, Lane forced a quick answer as she tied the game up at 1-1 with 12:42 remaining in the first period. The Royals went on to scored four more goals, as they held a 5-1 lead headed into the second quarter. 

Following an early second period goal for the Dutchmen, Scranton went on another four goal stretch to extend its lead to 9-2 at halftime.

The Royals dominated the second half, outscoring LVC 5-0 to complete a dominant 14-2 victory. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Boldis (Merrick, N.Y. / Sanford H. Calhoun) earned the win and made 12 saves while freshman Eva Guerino (Hopewell, N.J. / Pennington School) made two saves in her first career game for the Royals. 

Junior Kayleigh Stalter (Lynbrook, N.Y. / Lynbrook) and sophomore Molly McCarren (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern) each had a pair of goals in the win.

The women's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday when they head to TCNJ at 4:00 PM.
