SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton wrestling team dropped a 42-0 decision to the Wilkes University Colonels in the Royals' home finale on Sunday afternoon at the John Long Center in Scranton.
The Royals are now 5-9 in dual meets on the season.
- At 125 pounds, sophomore Justin Schifter (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) battled hard, but dropped a tough 5-3 decision to Wilkes' Austin Fashouer.
- Scranton came up just short in the 149 and 157 pound matches as freshman Kosta Mavrikidis (Warren, N.J./Paramus Catholic) dropped a 2-1 decision and junior Daniel Kosinski (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) fell 3-2 to the Colonels' Cody Dix.
Scranton is back in action on Feb. 12 for a tri-match against King's and Hunter that will be hosted by the Monarchs beginning at 2 p.m.
