ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Scranton men's tennis team (1-4) dropped a 6-2 decision to the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops (3-0) to open the team's annual Spring Break trip on Monday night at the USTA National Tennis Center in Orlando.
Scranton got on the board at No. 1 doubles as the senior duo of James Harrington (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) and Patrick O'Mara (Pleasantville, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) notched an 8-6 victory over the Battling Bishops' Jose Mancilla/Mark Siriwanichkul. In No. 3 doubles play, senior Jason Budrys (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park)/sophomore John Sinclair (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) dropped an 8-7 heartbreaker for the Royals.
Sinclair got the best of OWU's Rainer Holl at the sixth singles flight with a 6-1, 6-7 (7-9), 1-0 (10-2) three set victory.
The Royals will battle Wis.-Superior on Tuesday morning with action slated to get underway at 11 a.m.
