ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Scranton women's tennis team (2-3) dropped a 6-3 decision to the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops (4-1) in a non-conference match on Monday night at the USTA National Tennis Center in Orlando.
Scranton led 2-1 after doubles as the duo of senior Lily Nowak (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area)/sophomore Daniella Wisniewski (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) notched an 8-3 victory at the No. 1 flight and sophomore Julia Nocentino (Mantua, N.J./Kingsway Regional)/junior Lydia Grossman (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) recorded a thrilling 8-7 (7-2) win at the No. 3 flight.
Nowak also cruised to a straight set win in No. 1 singles as she defeated OWU's Katie Lee, 6-2, 6-1.
The Royals are back in action Tuesday morning against UW-Superior with first serve slated for 11 a.m.
