Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (April 1, 2023) -- The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team picked up its fourth consecutive win with a commanding 17-1 victory at Elizabethtown in Landmark Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Royals improve to 5-6 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
Scranton had three players record a hattrick in the win including senior Maggie Smith (Glen Rock, N.J. / Glen Rock), junior Erin Reich (Rockville Centre, N.Y. / South Side), and sophomore Molly McCarren (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern).
The Royals held a 3-0 lead at the end of the first period as Smith, Reich, and sophomore Grace Lane (Long Beach, N.Y. / Sacred Heart Academy) all found the back of the net.
Scranton added five more goals in the second period to hold an 8-0 lead at the end of the first half.
The Royals outscored the Blue Jays 9-1 in the second half as they went on to win 17-1.
Lane recorded a game-high four points on one goal and one assist while junior Devyn Tanajewski (Ringwood, N.J. / Lakeland Regional) added a goal and two assists for Scranton. Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Boldis (Merrick, N.Y. / Sanford H. Calhoun) made seven saves in just under 37 minutes of action before getting relieved by freshman Eva Guerino (Hopewell, N.J. / Pennington School) who made two saves in the final 23 minutes of play.
The women's lacrosse team returns to action on Thursday when its hosts Moravian at Weiss Field at 4:00 PM.
