ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's tennis team (5-8, 3-1 Landmark) rolled to an 8-1 victory over the Elizabethtown Blue Jays (0-9, 0-6 Landmark) in conference action on Monday afternoon at the Alumni Courts in Elizabethtown.
The senior duo of Patrick O'Mara (Pleasantville, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac)/Nathan Tauber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth Area) rolled to an 8-1 victory in No. 1 doubles and graduate student Sal Sullivan (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central)/senior Steven Prosperino (Brewster, N.Y./North Salem Central) notched an 8-3 win in No. 2 doubles. At the third doubles flight, junior Jason Budrys (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) and sophomore John Sinclair (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) swept the Blue Jays' duo of Yusuke Satani/Ethan Zelinsky, 8-0.
At No. 2 singles, Budrys cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Sam Langer and O'Mara added a 6-1, 6-0 victory of his own in third singles action.
Elsewhere for the Royals, Sinclair and Sullivan both picked up 6-0, 6-0 sweeps at Nos. 4 & 5 singles and freshman Nathan Harrison (Pennsville, N.J./Pennsville Memorial) was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Zelinsky in No. 6 singles.
Scranton returns home to host Drew in a key Landmark Conference match on Wednesday afternoon with first serve at the Royal Courts slated for 4 p.m.
