ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's tennis team (7-6, 3-1 Landmark) swept all three doubles matches and rolled to an 8-1 win over the Elizabethtown Blue Jays (5-3, 2-3 Landmark) on Monday afternoon at Alumni Courts in Elizabethtown.
In doubles play, the No. 1 duo of senior Lily Nowak (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area)/sophomore Daniella Wisniewski (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) rolled to an 8-1 victory and the No. 2 duo of sophomore Julia Nocentino (Mantua, N.J./Kingsway Regional)/junior Lydia Grossman (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) notched an 8-5 win.
The Blue Jays forfeited at both No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
Nowak cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Olivia Richards in No. 1 singles and Wisniewski posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Gabriella Paladini in No. 2 singles.
Freshman Olivia Sirico (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Morgan Bleicher in No. 4 singles and sophomore Taralyn Reilly (Archbald, Pa./Valley View) was a 7-5, 7-5 winner against Adriana Burmeister at fifth singles.
The Royals are back in action on Saturday afternoon versus Moravian with first serve at the Royal Courts slated for 1 p.m.
