CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's tennis team (7-7, 3-2 Landmark) dropped a tough 6-3 decision to the Moravian Greyhounds (15-3, 5-1 Landmark) in a conference match on Saturday afternoon at Birchwood Racquet Club in Clarks Summit.
Scranton held a 2-1 lead after doubles play as the No. 1 duo of senior Lily Nowak (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area)/sophomore Daniella Wisniewski (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) picked up an 8-5 victory and sophomore Julia Nocentino (Mantua, N.J./Kingsway Regional)/junior Lydia Grossman (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) recorded an 8-6 win in No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Nowak put together a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win over Julianne Cassady at the first singles flight and the Freeland, Pa., native has now won seven straight singles matches.
The Royals are right back in action tomorrow afternoon at Catholic with first serve in Washington, D.C. slated for 1 p.m.
