Budrys, Harrington, Sinclair Lead Men's Tennis to Thrilling 5-4 Victory at Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The trio of junior Jason Budrys (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park), senior James Harrington (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) and sophomore John Sinclair (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) all won both a singles and doubles match to lead The University of Scranton men's tennis team (6-10, 4-3 Landmark) to a thrilling 5-4 victory over the Catholic University Cardinals (6-9, 2-3 Landmark) on Sunday afternoon at Dowd Family Tennis Courts.

The Royals currently hold the fourth and final playoff spot in the Landmark Conference standings with a one game lead over the Cardinals who have two matches remaining. Landmark semifinal action will get underway on Apr. 25.

Harrington and fellow senior Patrick O'Mara (Pleasantville, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) notched an 8-6 win at the first doubles flight and Budrys/Sinclair teamed up for an 8-6 win of their own in No. 3 doubles.

In No. 1 singles play, Harrington rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over the Cardinals' James Earwood and Sinclair then added a 6-3, 6-2 win over Ben Perks in No. 5 singles. Budrys helped clinch the match for the Royals with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Henry Ogden at the fourth singles flight.
