Women's Tennis Drops Regular Season Finale to Drew

SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's tennis team (8-8, 4-3 Landmark) dropped a 9-0 decision to the Drew Rangers (14-2, 7-0 Landmark) to conclude the regular season on Wednesday afternoon at the Royal Courts in Scranton.

In doubles play, the No. 1 duo of senior Lily Nowak (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area)/sophomore Daniella Wisniewski (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) dropped a tough 8-6 decision and the No. 3 duo of junior Lydia Grossman (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale)/sophomore Julia Nocentino (Mantua, N.J./Kingsway Regional) battled but ultimately fell 8-5.

At the fourth singles flight, freshman Olivia Sirico (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) fell to Drew's Sanne Bloemendaal in a hard fought 6-4, 6-3 setback.

Scranton currently sits in the fourth and final playoff spot with Landmark semifinal action slated to get underway on Apr. 26. Stay tuned to athletics.scranton.edu for more on the playoff picture.
