MADISON, N.J. – The No. 4 seed University of Scranton men's tennis team (7-11) dropped a 5-0 decision to the top-seeded Drew University Rangers (15-4) in Landmark Conference semifinal action on Tuesday afternoon at the Drew Tennis Complex in Madison.
This marked the seventh straight postseason appearance for the Royals.
Drew won all three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead as the senior duo of Steven Prosperino (Brewster, N.Y./North Salem Central) and Nathan Tauber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth Area) put up a tough fight, but dropped an 8-5 decision at the second doubles flight.
In singles play, the Rangers captured victories at No. 2 and No. 5 singles to clinch the match. Senior James Harrington (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) held a one-set lead for the Royals at first singles when the match was called.
The Royals' 2022-23 roster featured five seniors or graduate students in Harrington, Prosperino, Tauber, senior Patrick O'Mara (Pleasantville, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) and graduate student Sal Sullivan (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central).
