Box Score WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's tennis team saw several players advance to the semifinals on day one of competition at the King's Fall Invitational at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.
Freshman Maxwell Dombrowski (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) notched a 6-3, 6-0 win over Lycoming's Luke Leach in No. 1 singles, while senior Jason Budrys (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 2 singles. At No. 4 singles, graduate student Steven Prosperino (Brewster, N.Y./North Salem Central) recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win of his own to advance to the semifinal match and freshman Harrison Clark (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) recorded a 6-2, 6-2 decision against Susquehanna's Gavin Ream at the fifth singles flight.
In No. 6 singles, sophomore Nathan Harrison (Pennsville, N.J./Pennsville Memorial) will compete in semifinals on Sunday and freshman Lucas Kotcho (Jermyn, Pa./Valley View) is also set to play in the semis in No. 7 singles after a 6-0, 6-0 win.
The duo of Harrison and Prosperino also took down a Lycoming doubles team with an 8-4 victory and will play in a second doubles semifinal match.
Play resumes on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
