Box Score WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Three freshmen members of The University of Scranton men's tennis team won individual titles in their respective singles flights on day two of the King's Fall Invitational on Sunday at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre.
Freshman Maxwell Dombrowski (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) captured the title at No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Kings' Logan Gregory and remains unbeaten during the start of his young career at Scranton. In No. 5 singles action, fellow freshman Harrison Clark (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) notched a thrilling 6-3, 6-7, 10-6 victory over Derwin Guzman to notch the individual title.
At the seventh singles flight, freshman Lucas Kotcho (Jermyn, Pa./Valley View) rolled to consecutive 6-0, 6-0 victories in the semifinals and finals and topped Kings' Cody Zheng in the finals.
In doubles play, the duo of sophomore Nathan Harrison (Pennsville, N.J./Pennsville Memorial) and graduate student Steven Prosperino (Brewster, N.Y./North Salem Central) had advanced to the finals at No. 3 doubles before play was called due to rain.
Scranton is back in action on Wednesday afternoon at Marywood with first serve slated for 3:30 p.m.
