Senior forward Bridget Abraldes (Holbrook. N.Y./Sachem East) of The University of Scranton field hockey team notched her third career hat trick in Saturday's victory over Elizabethtown and has been named Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sept. 24, 2023.
This marks the second career Scranton Athlete of the Week selection for Abraldes who previously won the award on Oct. 12, 2021.
The Holbrook, N.Y., native tallied a total of seven points (three goals, one assist) on the week as the Royals went 2-0 with wins over Vassar (4Â-2) and Elizabethtown (4-1). Abraldes recorded an assist in the comeback win against Vassar and then helped Scranton cruise to the 4-1 win over the Blue Jays with a hat trick in the first three quarters.
On the season, Abraldes has tallied 10 points on four goals and two assists.
The Royals have won six straight and are back in action on Wednesday night at Ithaca with start time set for 7 p.m.
