Women's Tennis Drops 5-4 Heartbreaker to Lock Haven

SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's tennis team (0-2) dropped a 5-4 heartbreaker to Lock Haven University (3-0) in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon at the Royal Courts in Scranton.

In doubles play, the No. 2 duo of junior Daniella Wisniewski (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) and junior Taralyn Reilly (Archbald, Pa./Valley View) notched an 8-2 victory and junior Julia Nocentino (Mantua, N.J./Kingsway Regional)/senior Lydia Grossman (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) recorded an 8-4 win at the third flight to give the Royals an early 2-1 lead.

Sophomore Olivia Sirico (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over the Bald Eagles' Mary Hillman in No. 3 singles and classmate Paige Hunt (West Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) notched a thrilling 7-6, 1-6, 7-2 win over Christy McLean at the fourth singles flight for Scranton.

The Royals will host Kutztown in their final match of the fall on Wednesday afternoon at the Royal Courts with first serve slated for 4 p.m.
