Rocco DePietro Named Assistant Baseball Coach at Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton baseball program has announced the addition of Rocco DePietro as an assistant coach. DePietro will enter his first season with the Royals during the 2026 campaign.

DePietro joins Scranton after three seasons as an assistant coach at Keystone College, where he played a key role in guiding the Giants to three conference championships. During his final season on staff, Keystone ranked among the national leaders in several offensive categories, including seventh in batting average and hits, fifth in runs scored, ninth in scoring, 14th in on-base percentage, 18th in slugging percentage, 26th in home runs, 24th in walks, and fourth in stolen bases.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, DePietro has an extensive background in summer collegiate baseball at the national level. He served as an assistant coach with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2024, helping develop a roster that produced 15 MLB Draft picks, including two first-round selections in the 2025 MLB Draft. DePietro continued his Cape Cod League experience in 2025 with the Wareham Gatemen, where the team ranked first in OPS, home runs, RBIs, runs scored, doubles, triples, and slugging percentage, while also producing two selections in the 2025 MLB Draft.

A former Keystone student-athlete from 2019–22, DePietro helped lead the Giants to two conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances during his playing career. He also gained collegiate playing experience at Felician University and Lackawanna College.

DePietro earned his associate degree in sports management from Lackawanna College in 2018 and completed his bachelor's degree in business at Keystone College in 2022. He currently resides in Archbald, Pa.
