SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton softball team split a home doubleheader against Susquehanna University on Saturday afternoon at Magis Field.
The Basics

Game 1: Susquehanna - 3, Scranton - 0
How it Happened
- Susquehanna scored the first run of the game with back-to-back triples with one out in the third to take a 1-0 lead. The River Hawks scored another run on an RBI double from their next batter and then added their third run of the inning on a two-out RBI single to go up 3-0.
- Scranton threatened in the bottom of the seventh inning as the senior Hannah Keane singled to lead off the inning and sophomore Ellyn Cervona walked with one out, but the Royals were unable to score as they fell 3-0.

- Keane tallied two hits.
- Junior Carley Noble struck out four batters in three scoreless innings in relief.
Game 2: Scranton - 5, Susquehanna - 4
How it Happened
- After a one out triple, Susquehanna scored the first run of the game with an RBI single to go ahead 1-0 in the first inning.
- The River Hawks added two more runs with an RBI single and a two-out, RBI double to extend their advantage to 3-0 in the second inning.
- Scranton scored its first run of the day in the third inning when senior Alyssa Mosconi drove in sophomore Celia Totaro with a ground out to cut the River Hawks lead to 3-1.
- The Royals added another run in the fourth inning to get within one run. After junior Emmie Feltenberger led off the inning with a triple, freshman Hailey Poskonka drove her in with a single to cut the deficit to 3-2.
- Susquehanna added its fourth run of the game in the fifth inning on an RBI single, capitalizing on a lead off triple and extending the lead to 4-2.
- After loading the bases with two walks and a hit in the bottom of the fifth inning, Feltenberger drove in a run to make it a 4-3 game. The next batter, Poskonka, singled to right field to tie the game at 4-4.
- With one out and runners on first and second, sophomore Lainey Lacey flied out to right field. Keane, who tagged up to go to third on the fly out, scored on a throwing error by the right fielder on that same play to put Scranton in the lead 5-4.
- Senior Emma Tirollo pitched a perfect top of the seventh inning to finish off a complete game, leading the Royals to the 5-4 victory.
Top Performers
- Tirollo earned the win with nine strikeouts over seven innings pitched.
- Poskonka tallied two hits and two RBI.
- Mosconi had one hit and one RBI.
