WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's swimming team delivered a dominant showing in a tri-meet against Wilkes University and Lebanon Valley College on Friday evening, earning wins over Wilkes, 181–58, and Lebanon Valley, 203–26.
Scranton opened the meet in strong fashion by taking the top two scoring spots in the 200 medley relay. The A relay of Kali Piczon, Sami Roerig, Alyssa Bean, and Amelia Griffin touched first in 1:56.97, while the C relay of Lauren Hazlett, Camdyn Jervis, Nichole Koltsov, and Katie Hosko followed closely behind in 2:02.72 to set the tone early.
The distance group provided immediate separation in the 1000 freestyle, where Aviah Dahlgren won convincingly in 10:58.06. Izzy Lerner added another strong points finish by placing second in 12:33.54, giving Scranton a decisive edge in one of the meet's longest events.
Scranton continued to control the 200 freestyle, sweeping the top three spots behind Olivia Thomas (2:08.20), Katie Hosko (2:08.75), and Katherine Grefski (2:12.59). The Royals carried that momentum into the sprint events, as Amelia Griffin captured first place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.75, followed by Kathryn Dilenge and Nichole Koltsov in second and third.
The IM events further highlighted Scranton's depth, with Meredith Sulman winning the 200 IM in 2:21.88. Ava Forgione placed second, and Sami Roerig finished third, completing a sweep of the scoring positions for the Royals.
Scranton also controlled the stroke events. Alyssa Bean won the 100 butterfly in 1:00.34, with Hailey Wilcox and Kathryn Dilenge following closely behind. In the 100 breaststroke, Amelia Griffin captured first place in 1:13.82, while Camdyn Jervis added a second-place finish.
In the backstroke events, Emily White led a Scranton sweep of the 100 backstroke, finishing first in 1:07.57, followed by Katherine Grefski and Kali Piczon. The Royals closed individual events by sweeping the top four spots in the 500 freestyle, led by Olivia Thomas (5:35.75) and Meredith Sulman (5:38.49).
The meet concluded with a strong relay showing, as Scranton finished first and second in the 200 freestyle relay to cap a complete team performance.
