SCRANTON, Pa. – Sam Sharrow has been named Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week after a standout performance for The University of Scranton women's track and field team at the Moravian University Blue & Grey Invite on Saturday.
Sharrow delivered the Royals' top individual results of the meet by capturing victories in both the 60 meters and the long jump. She won the 60 meters with a time of 7.80, advancing through the preliminary rounds before closing strong in the finals to secure the sprint title against a competitive field.
In the long jump, Sharrow also claimed first place with a mark of 5.67m (program record) to complete a pair of individual event wins at the meet. She has been a key contributor in the field events this season and currently ranks among the top 10 in the nation in the long jump.
In addition to her individual victories, Sharrow also ran a leg on Scranton's first-place 4x400 relay team, helping the Royals earn another event win at the meet.
Sharrow's performances highlight a strong early-season showing as the Royals continue to build momentum during the indoor campaign.
