How It Happened

  • Scranton and Elizabethtown traded momentum throughout the opening half, with neither team able to create significant separation. Tornabene controlled the glass early, while Jon Spatola and Brendan Carr provided timely scoring to help the Royals take a 31–27 lead into halftime.
  • Elizabethtown tied the game at 42–42 early in the second half, but Scranton quickly seized control with a decisive response. The Royals answered with an 8–0 run, sparked by a Carr three-pointer and capped by a Tornabene triple, pushing the lead to 50–42 and shifting momentum for good.
  • From there, Scranton continued to apply pressure on both ends, shooting nearly 60 percent in the second half. Tornabene created second-chance opportunities, while the Royals capitalized at the free-throw line to maintain separation.
  • In the final stretch, Scranton delivered the key plays needed to put the game away. Tornabene finished through contact on consecutive possessions to push the lead to double digits and followed with a crucial defensive rebound to halt an Elizabethtown push.
