The University of Scranton men's soccer team had two players earn Landmark Conference weekly honors on Monday, as Drew Paxson was named Offensive Athlete of the Week and Alex Kozdron was selected as Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Paxson scored all three of Scranton's goals during the week as the Royals picked up wins over Alvernia University and Goucher College.
Against Alvernia on Wednesday, Paxson scored twice in the second half to lead Scranton to a 2-1 victory. He scored in the 48th minute on a header off a corner kick from Kozdron before scoring again in the 69th minute on another header off a free kick from Kozdron.
Paxson scored again on Saturday, heading home a free kick from Kozdron in the 60th minute to give the Royals a 1-0 win over Goucher. The goal was his third of the week and third of the season.
Kozdron recorded three assists during the week, assisting on all three of Paxson's goals. He now has a team-best six assists on the season, which also leads the Landmark Conference.
Kozdron also helped Scranton record a shutout against Goucher, as the Royals limited the Gophers to just two shots and none on goal.
