BALTIMORE, MD - The University of Scranton men's swimming & diving team placed runner-up at the Landmark Conference Championships.
The Royals finished with a total of 770 points, placing second behind Catholic University of America, which captured the team title with 877.5 points. The runner-up result marks the second straight second-place finish for the Royals at the conference championships. Freshman Jake Brunetti highlighted Sunday's efforts as he was named the Landmark Conference Men's Rookie of the Year.

Day Four Highlights
In the 1650 freestyle, Christopher Clarke led the Royals with a fourth-place finish, followed by Jimmy O'Malley in fifth, Steven Detwiler in seventh, and Will Tagliareni in eighth.
In the 200 backstroke, Jake Brunetti highlighted the event with a runner-up finish, while Adrian Agnello placed sixth and Alex Iannone finished seventh.
In the 100 freestyle, Craig Clarke took ninth, Owen Sherry finished 11th, and Zach Leonard added a 12th-place effort.
The Royals showed strong depth in the 200 breaststroke, as Matt Bellach led the way with a fourth-place finish. Agnello placed sixth, Tommy Nappi seventh, Ethan Kwon eighth, Sam Peters ninth, and Alexander Crumpton 12th.
In the 200 butterfly, Matt Sherry recorded a sixth-place finish, with O'Malley close behind in seventh.
Scranton closed the meet with a third-place showing in the 400 freestyle relay, as the quartet of Brunetti, Clarke, Leonard, and Sherry combined for the podium finish.

Day Three Highlights
Saturday proved to be another record-setting day for the Royals.
In the 400 IM, Matt Bellach led Scranton with a fourth-place finish. Steven Detwiler (5th) and Ethan Kwon (6th) gave the Royals three swimmers in the top six, while Conor Doogan (9th) and Christopher Clarke (11th) added depth.
Matt Sherry earned a fourth-place finish in the 100 butterfly, followed by Zach Leonard (8th) and Alex Iannone (11th).
Craig Clarke delivered one of the biggest performances of the meet in the 200 freestyle, capturing the conference title with a program-record time of 1:42.56. Will Tagliareni (7th) and Adrian Agnello (8th) also scored.
In the 100 breaststroke, Sam Peters placed sixth, Tommy Nappi finished eighth, Conor Doogan took 10th and Alexander Crumpton placed 11th.
Jake Brunetti added another program record in the 100 backstroke, finishing third in 51.44. Owen Sherry (5th), Ethan Kwon (7th) and Alex Iannone (9th) rounded out a strong showing for the Royals.
Scranton closed the night with another podium relay finish, as Jake Brunetti, Craig Clarke, Matt Sherry and Owen Sherry teamed up for a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.

Day Two Highlights
The Royals posted several strong individual swims on Friday.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Will Tagliareni led the way with a fifth-place finish, followed by Christopher Clarke (7th), Jimmy O'Malley (8th) and Steven Detwiler (12th).
Scranton excelled in the 200 IM, as Craig Clarke placed second with a school record time of 1:55.21. In the same event, Jake Brunetti finished fourth, Sam Peters added a seventh-place finish, while Conor Doogan (11th) and Tommy Nappi (12th) also scored.
In the 50 freestyle, Owen Sherry placed sixth and Matt Sherry finished 12th.
The Royals added valuable points in the diving well during the three-meter competition, with Tim Hause placing fourth and Liam Malanowski finishing fifth.
Scranton closed day two with another relay podium finish. The 400 medley relay team of Craig Clarke, Sam Peters, Matt Sherry and Owen Sherry placed third in 3:29.51.

Day One Highlights
Scranton has totaled 106 points through the first night of competition and trails Catholic University of America, which leads the field with 121 points.
The Royals opened the evening in impressive fashion as the 200 medley relay team of Jake Brunetti, Sam Peters, Matt Sherry and Owen Sherry placed second with a time of 1:33.88, earning key early points.
In the one-meter diving competition, Scranton showcased its depth with three top-six finishes. Tim Hause led the Royals with a fourth-place finish, followed by Liam Malanowski in fifth and Kevin O'Keefe in sixth, adding valuable points to the team total.
The night concluded with a record-breaking effort in the 800 freestyle relay. Will Tagliareni, Jimmy O'Malley, Jake Brunetti and Craig Clarke combined for a program-record time of 6:58.71 to finish third overall, capping off a strong first day in the pool.
