SCRANTON, Pa. -- The University of Scranton women's golf team is set for a busy and competitive spring season as the Royals prepare for the postseason and a run at the conference championship.
Scranton opens play on March 28 with a tri-match at Stone Hedge Golf Course in Tunkhannock, Pa., facing Marywood University and Albright College. The early test provides the Royals an opportunity to establish momentum right away.
On April 9, Scranton travels to Frost Valley Country Club for the Bloomsburg Invitational, hosted by Bloomsburg University, before competing April 11 at the Susquehanna Invitational at Susquehanna Valley Country Club, hosted by Susquehanna University.
The Royals return to Stone Hedge Golf Course on April 12 for a dual match against Wilkes University and host another tri-match April 13 versus Marywood University and King's College.
Scranton then competes April 16 at Glen Oak Country Club in Clarks Summit, Pa., against Drew University before returning to Stone Hedge on April 18 for a tri-match with Misericordia University and King's College.
The Royals close the regular season April 22 at the Conquer The Island Invitational at Shawnee Golf Course in Shawnee on the Delaware, Pa., before turning their attention to the Landmark Conference Championship on April 25–26.
Scranton is led by veteran head coach Ed Karpovich, who enters his 44th season guiding the Royals' golf programs. His leadership and experience continue to provide stability and direction for both squads.
The women's roster features strong upperclass leadership and experienced depth. Seniors Lidia Marranca, Cassandra Weir, Julia Downing, and Emily Murphy headline the lineup, while junior Alexandra Schaul adds veteran presence. Sophomores Mara Bilenski and Emily Davis round out a competitive group poised to make strides this spring.
With a challenging schedule and a seasoned core, the Royals enter the spring season focused on building consistency and positioning themselves for success at the conference championship.
