The University of Scranton softball team split a doubleheader with Juniata College on Saturday afternoon at Magis Field in Scranton, earning a dominant win in game one before dropping a close contest in game two.

- Game 2 Final Score: Juniata 3, Scranton 2
- Records: Scranton 9-4, Juniata 8-10
How It Happened – Game 1:
- After a scoreless start, Scranton broke through in the third inning as Celia Totaro delivered a two-run triple to put the Royals in front.
- Juniata answered with a run in the fourth, but the Royals quickly took control. A four-run fifth inning, fueled by RBI hits from Emmie Feltenberger and Gianna Muliero along with a two-run single from Gabriella Gorzkowski, stretched the lead to 6-1.
- Scranton put the game away in the sixth, plating five more runs. Mollie Ferreira and Totaro continued to set the tone at the top of the lineup, while Gorzkowski delivered a bases-clearing double as the Royals secured the 11-1 victory.
- Emma Douglas (5-1) was outstanding in the circle, tossing a complete game and allowing just three hits and one unearned run while striking out six.
- Gorzkowski paced the offense with five RBIs in the win as Scranton totaled nine hits.
How It Happened – Game 2:
- Game two was much tighter, with Scranton striking first in the second inning on an RBI double from Hailey Poskonka.
- Juniata responded in the fourth, scoring three runs to take a 3-1 lead.
- The Royals chipped away in the sixth when Totaro tripled and later scored on a fielder's choice by Meghan McDonnell to make it a one-run game. Scranton threatened to do more damage in the inning but left the bases loaded.
- Scranton brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh but was unable to complete the comeback, falling 3-2.
- Carley Noble provided a strong relief effort, tossing three scoreless innings and allowing just one hit.Â
