Royal Reflection: Sam Sharrow, Women's Track & Field

Royal Reflection shines a light on the senior student-athletes who embody what it means to be a Royal. In this edition, we feature Sam Sharrow of the women's track and field team as she reflects on the moments that defined her time at The University of Scranton. 

Favorite Scranton memory?

  • My favorite memory at Scranton is winning the Landmark Championship for the first time in program history this past indoor season. 

One lesson Scranton athletics taught you.

  • Scranton athletics taught me that you can accomplish anything with the right people around you.

Pregame or pre-competition ritual you'll miss most?

  • I will miss hotel hangouts, making TikTok's, and blasting music on the bus with my best friends. 

Teammate who made the biggest impact on you?

Best advice you've received during your career?

  • A winner is a loser who tried one more time.

What does being a Royal mean to you?

  • Being a royal means belonging to a family that inspires me to be my best self both on and off the track. 

What are you most proud of from your time at Scranton?

  • I am most proud of the environment the team has built and how we consistently motivate and support one another through both successes and failures.

What's next after graduation?

  • After graduation, I will be pursuing my Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis here at Scranton.

What surprised you most about yourself this past season?

  • I was most surprised by my ability to shift my mindset, believe in myself, and trust my training in important moments. 

How do you hope to be remembered by your coaches and your teammates? 

  • I hope to be remembered as a teammate that is dependable, supportive, and hardworking.
