The University of Scranton softball team split a double header with Elizabethtown College, dropping the first game of the day in five innings, 10-2, before bouncing back in game two with a 5-1 victory on Sunday afternoon at Magis Field.

Game One
How it Happened
- Scranton jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, scoring in the first inning on an RBI single by Gianna Muliero that brought home Emmie Feltenberger.
- Elizabethtown responded with two runs in the top of the second to take a 2-1 advantage. With two outs in the frame, the Blue Jays strung together three consecutive hits to score their first runs of the game.
- The Blue Jays broke it open in the top of the fourth, erupting for eight runs behind two doubles and a home run to extend the lead to 10-1.
- Celia Totaro raced around the bases for an inside-the-park home run to trim the deficit to eight, but Scranton was unable to rally in the fifth and fell in the opener, 10-2.
Game Two
How it Happened
- The Royals took the lead in the bottom of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Meghan McDonnell to move in front 1-0.
- Scranton added three runs in the top of the third to extend the lead to four. A groundout by Celia Totaro scored Mollie Ferreira, and with two outs, Gianna Muliero delivered an RBI triple before Gabriella Gorzkowski followed with an RBI single to stretch the lead to 4-0.
- After Totaro drew a walk and moved to second on a groundout, Daniela Brescia singled to bring her home and make it 5-0.
- The Blue Jays broke through against Emma Douglas in the sixth, recording their first hit of the game and later scoring on an RBI single to cut the deficit to 5-1.
- The Blue Jays placed two runners on base in the seventh, but Douglas struck out the final batter to seal the 5-1 win in the nightcap. The sophomore carried a no-hitter into the sixth and finished with a complete game, allowing one run while striking out three.
