The University of Scranton softball team split a doubleheader against Lycoming College, dropping the first game of the day, 4-1, before bouncing back to win game two, 8-0, on Saturday afternoon at Magis Field.

How it Happened
- Scranton opened the scoring in the first inning when Gianna Muliero singled to bring home Celia Totaro, giving the Royals a 1-0 lead.
- Lycoming moved in front in the top of the third, scoring twice on an RBI single and a sacrifice fly to take a 2-1 advantage.
- The Warriors added two more runs in the fifth. An RBI double brought in the first, and a sacrifice fly in the next at-bat pushed the lead to 4-1.
- After their first-inning run, Scranton managed just four more hits and could not generate any additional offense, as Lycoming claimed game one by a 4-1 final.
Game Two
How it Happened
- Both starting pitchers were sharp early, keeping the offenses in check. Emma Douglas threw four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out two, while Isabelle Engel countered with three shutout frames of her own.
- Scranton broke through in the bottom of the fourth. A Celia Totaro single and a Gianna Muliero double put two aboard for Gabriella Gorzkowski, who launched a three-run homer to center field to give the Royals a 3-0 advantage.
- The Royals added five more runs in the fifth on three hits and two Lycoming errors. Gorzkowski drove in a run with a single, two more scored on a Warriors error in center field, and Ellyn Cervona lifted a sacrifice fly to make it 7-0. Later in the inning, with the bases loaded, Totaro beat out an infield single to plate the eighth run and seal the 8-0 mercy-rule victory for Scranton.
