The University of Scranton softball team split a doubleheader with Susquehanna University on Sunday afternoon in Selinsgrove, earning an 8-3 victory in game one before dropping game, 2-0.

Game One
How it Happened
- Scranton scored twice in the first inning to take an early lead. Celia Totaro walked and moved to second on a wild pitch before Gianna Muliero drove her in with an RBI double. Two batters later, Gabriella Gorzkowski laced a two-out RBI double to extend the advantage to 2-0.
- Susquehanna answered with a run in the bottom of the inning, scoring on a groundout to cut the deficit to 2-1.
- The Royals responded with four runs in the top of the second to stretch the lead to five. Muliero came through again with a two-run single. Molly Ferreira then stole home, and Daniela Brescia capped the inning with an RBI single to bring in the fourth run of the frame and make it 6-1.
- The River Hawks plated two runs in the bottom of the third, scoring on an RBI single up the middle and an RBI double to pull within three at 6-3.
- Scranton countered with two runs on four hits in the fourth. Ferreira led off with a triple, and Muliero followed with an RBI single to drive her in. Later in the inning, Emmie Feltenberger singled to center to score Muliero and push the lead to 8-3.
- Emma Douglas went the distance for the Royals, recording five strikeouts and holding the River Hawks scoreless over the final three innings. Her third strikeout of the game, which came in the third inning, marked her 112th of the season and set a new single-season program record, surpassing Jennifer Sweeney's total of 111 set in 2019.
Game Two
How it Happened
- Both starting pitchers came out strong, but Susquehanna broke through first with a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the fourth and take a 1-0 lead.
- The River Hawks added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single off Douglas to extend the advantage to 2-0.
- Brianna Jones limited the Royals to just two hits, throwing a complete-game shutout over seven innings to earn the win for the River Hawks.
