Scranton Women's Tennis Set to Face Moravian in Landmark Championship Match

The top-seeded University of Scranton women's tennis team will look to defend its Landmark Conference title on Saturday afternoon, meeting No. 2 seed Moravian University in a championship rematch at the Central PA Tennis Center.

Scranton is also chasing a major milestone, as the Royals look to secure their sixth Landmark Conference championship in program history and move ahead of Moravian for the most all-time conference titles. The Royals are looking to win back-to-back titles for the first time since 2013-14.

  • Defeated Drew University 4-1 in the semifinals

    • Crawford earned a dominant win at No. 1 singles

    • Hannah Rowan added a straight-set win at No. 4 singles

Moravian (Semifinal Result)

  • Defeated Catholic University 4-3 in a comeback win
  • Trailed 2-0 after doubles and early singles play
  • Singles rally included wins from Natalia Smith, Sydney Shifman, Leah Zolotareva, and Kaelyn Balko (clinched at No. 5)
  • Seventh straight appearance in the Landmark Championship match
  • Seeking first conference title since 2021

Regular Season Meeting

  • Scranton defeated Moravian 5-2 earlier this season at the Royal Courts
  • Royals improved to 6-0 in conference play with that win
  • Doubles point earned via wins at No. 1 and No. 3
    • Crawford / Falzone won 6-3 at No. 1
    • McNulty / Pencek clinched 6-4 at No. 3
  • Singles wins included:
    • Crawford (6-1, 6-2 at No. 1)
