Scranton Women's Soccer Enjoys Memorable Trip to the Netherlands and Belgium

The University of Scranton women's soccer team traveled to the Netherlands and Belgium from May 28 through June 5 for an unforgettable international experience that combined competition, sightseeing, and team bonding.

The trip began with travel overseas and a boat cruise in Marken before the Royals enjoyed one of the tour's highlights, a canal cruise through Amsterdam, on May 30. Later that day, Scranton played its first international match.

On May 31, the team toured the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam before exploring Delft and competing in its second match of the trip.

After traveling to Belgium, the Royals took part in a walking tour of Brussels on June 1 and spent the following day sightseeing in Bruges. The team then visited Antwerp on June 3, where a stop at the city's Chocolate Museum was another favorite experience before playing its third and final match.

The trip concluded with sightseeing in Ghent and a tour of the historic Castle of the Counts on June 4 before departing for home the following day.

Among the many highlights of the trip were the Amsterdam Canal Cruise, Anne Frank House tour, Brussels Walking Tour, and Antwerp Chocolate Museum. The team also enjoyed exploring Brussels during its free time, shopping, taking photos, and making nightly stops for Belgian waffles and gelato.

The international tour provided the Royals with a unique opportunity to experience new cultures, build team chemistry, and create lasting memories together ahead of the 2026 season.
