WESTMINSTER, Md. – The University of Scranton wrestling team is 8-0 for the first time in the program's 49-year history after the Royals won all three of their matches in the Green Terror Duals on Saturday afternoon at McDaniel College.
The Royals posted victories over McDaniel (41-10), Penn State-Mont Alto (45-6) and Gettysburg (27-10) to stay undefeated in dual match competition. The 8-0 start to the season surpasses the previous best of 6-0 back in 1986-87.
Five Scranton wrestlers went undefeated on the day. They were:
- Senior Salvatore Montuori (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) had three pins, clamping his opponent in each match;
